How To Effectively Combat Moist Eczema In Dogs

Canine Moist Eczema, most commonly known as “hot spots”, is a severe dog skin condition. Its occurrence is as a result of contained moisture on the skin and bacterial infections, and is usually treatable with antibiotics. They are easily diagnosed as you will see raw patches of skin and if left untreated will spread quickly.

Your dog will naturally react to this by itching and scratching, that’s when it can become a real problem. The area will quickly become scabby and raw, possibly forming lesions, which are even more painful. To sooth this pain your dog will try licking and biting the affected areas, which only leads to infections and irreparable scarring.

You will find that if you trim the area around the infected area, the affected skin will be free to heal and dry out, scabbing over as expected. You MUST prevent your dog scratching this area, allowing it to heal, so a good Elizabeth collar may be needed. You can keep the area clean with antiseptic sprays and specialized shampoo. Hydrocortison cream can be applied to prevent further itching.
Even though the advice above is typical and good advice, be sure to consult your vet before attempting to tackle your dog’s skin conditions.

Well it is indeed possible, and its something you should learn how to do just in case the unlikely situation should ever arise that Gonzo might need your help to start breathing again.

In any emergency situation, the best idea is to get Gonzo to the veterinarian or animal hospital as quickly as possible. But if youve determined that hes not breathing, performing CPR early enough may save his life before you get to the vet and its too late.

One of the best ways to remember what to do during CPR is to remember the ABCs of CPR. ABC stands for Airway, Breathing, and Compressions.
